A surging Buffalo squad heads to Vegas for a critical AFC matchup as Las Vegas looks to get back on track after a strong season start.

The AFC showdown between the 4-1 Buffalo Bills and 3-2 Las Vegas Raiders takes the spotlight for Roundtables NFL Week 6 Game of the Week.

The Chiefs are having a better go at things than the Raiders, who started the season 3-0 and have totally backslid in the last few weeks, and fans got their first glimpse of the future in rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who played the last drive of the blowout loss to the Patriots.

Also falling to New England two weeks back are the Bills, who are humming under Josh Allen but are still searching for a few final pieces, mainly a No. 1 pass catching target.

To get an in-depth look at the game, we reached out to Raiders Roundtable publisher Stephen Mottram for their expert analysis.

What is the biggest story for your team heading into the matchup?

Raiders RTB: The Raiders started this season on a high note, 3-0. After falling to the Chiefs and Patriots in back-to-back weeks, this game against Buffalo is a huge test for their legitimacy as a contender. If the Raiders lose, they might be exactly who we thought they were ahead of the season. If they win, they should be right back into top dog conversations.

What is the most important matchup in this game?

Raiders RTB: Josh Allen vs. Maxx Crosby will be the most important matchup in this game. Allen has rushed for 239 yards and eight touchdowns this season, but on Sunday he’ll have Crosby on the other side of the line of scrimmage. Crosby could easily be the difference maker in this game if he can help contain Allen on the ground.

Which player from your team isn’t talked about enough but could play a huge role?

Raiders RTB: Cornerback Taron Johnson hasn’t made headlines for his play this season, but he may be the most important player in this game for the Raiders. He spent the first eight years of his career with the Bills, which may lead Vegas to receive some highly coveted intel. Vegas will need every advantage they can get in this one, and having a former Bills player in your corner can be very valuable.

What is your team’s biggest Achilles heel?

Raiders RTB: Vegas’ defense has allowed 703 rushing yards, averaging 140.6 per game. This is the fourth-highest among NFL teams, and the Bills have an incredibly dangerous 1-2 punch in Allen and running back James Cook. If the Raiders can’t stop the run game, this could get ugly fast.

What is your final score prediction?

Raiders RTB: Unfortunately, I think the Raiders will lose this one 33-13. Josh Allen will continue to add to his MVP-Caliber campaign and Vegas is revealed to be a pretender, not a contender.
