The New York Giants have finally gotten some good news before facing the Houston Texans on Sunday.

The New York Giants have been absolutely ravaged by injuries this season. It has been one blow after another for the NFC East leaders.

The most recent example was linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, who was ruled out for the year due to an elbow injury in a stunning turn of events.

But the Giants have finally received some good news in the injury department before facing the Houston Texans on Sunday: cornerback Paulson Adebo is returning.

New York has activated Adebo — who has been sidelined since Week 2 due to a knee injury — off of injured reserve, and he should be good to go for the Texans matchup.

Of course, Greg Newsome II will be out due to a concussion, so it's not like the Giants will be at full strength in the secondary, but at least it's something.

Adebo signed a three-year, $54 million contract with New York in March 2025 and was expected to stabilize the team's ailing cornerback room.

Instead, the opposite occurred.

Adebo struggled through his debut campaign with the Giants, missing five games due to injury and laboring when he was actually on the field.

The former New Orleans Saints standout also had a miserable training camp and preseason, which resulted in him losing his starting job to former first-round bust Deonte Banks (who has actually been playing pretty well thus far).

Now, it should be noted that Adebo dealt with a knee issue last year, too, so perhaps a trip to IR was what the 27-year-old needed to get fully healthy. Either that, or the knee is becoming a chronic issue that New York will have to monitor.

Whatever the case may be, Adebo will be back on the field here in Week 7, and he should receive ample playing time with Newsome unavailable.

Adebo was actually a very good player throughout his first four seasons with the Saints, which was why there was so much excitement when the Giants signed him in free agency.

In fact, his contract was largely viewed as a steal at the time.

Obviously, it has been anything but the sort through Adebo's first year-plus with Big Blue, but there is certainly still time for him to turn things around.

New York is sitting at the top of the division at 3-2-1 heading into the Houston matchup, and it will remain in first place regardless of what happens in the game.

But hopefully, the Giants look a heck of a lot better than they did last week versus Adebo's former New Orleans squad.
