The New York Giants must take note of this heading into the NFL Draft.
The New York Giants signed cornerback Greg Newsome II in free agency, but they also lost Cor'Dale Flott, so cornerback remains a glaring need for them.
The hope is that Paulson Adebo will have a much better showing in his second year with the Giants, but there is no guarantee that will happen.
New York absolutely must select a cornerback at some point in the NFL Draft, and it would be most preferable for the club to do so over the first couple of rounds.
The Giants own the No. 5 overall pick, and while they have been linked to linebacker Sonny Styles and safety Caleb Downs, both Ohio State products, neither player fills a significant need for Big Blue.
Trading down could be the best possible option for New York, and John Harbaugh and Co. now have even more incentive to do that.
Why? Because of Mansoor Delane's Pro Day.
Delane ran a 4.35 in the 40-yard dash at LSU's Pro Day on Monday, a phenomenal speed for a cornerback.

But while McCoy and Terrell have their own respective concerns, Delane may very well be the most well-rounded corner slated to be available next month.
The general expectation is that Delane will fall just outside the top 10, although his stock may have risen thanks to his Pro Day performance.
That being said, Delane probably still isn't worth taking at No. 5, meaning the Giants would be better served trading down to land him.
It makes perfect sense. Trade down to select Delane to fill a major need and also acquire more draft capital in the process to address other roster holes.
The idea of drafting Styles or Downs has never sat well with me at No. 5. No, neither does selecting Jeremiyah Love.
New York's need at cornerback is dire, and Delane may very well be just the man for the job. But it might take some gymnastics for the Giants to properly make it happen.
