The New York Giants need to add this wide receiver following Wan'Dale Robinson's departure.

The New York Giants have certainly been active in free agency, landing some terrific players to fill some key areas of need.

However, the Giants have yet to add a wide receiver after losing Wan'Dale Robinson, which is definitely concerning.

Yes, New York can pick up a wide out in the NFL Draft, and it's looking more and more like Carnell Tate will be the selection at No. 5. But the Giants should really be looking to acquire a veteran receiver, as well.

The idea of trading for Brian Thomas Jr. seems a bit unrealistic, so we can probably forget about that pipe dream even though it has been discussed.

Jalen Nailor — who would have been an outstanding replacement for Robinson — is also off the table after signing a three-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.

But what about Darnell Mooney?

Mooney was just released by the Atlanta Falcons, and the fact that he remains unsigned is actually fairly puzzling.

Sure, Mooney had a down year in 2025, catching 32 passes for 443 yards and a touchdown, but he is two seasons removed from finishing just shy of 1,000 yards while averaging a healthy 15.5 yards per catch.

Plus, back in 2021 with the Chicago Bears, Mooney hauled in 81 receptions for 1,055 yards and four scores.

Mooney could slide right into the slot where Robinson previously played, and he has the ability to achieve just as much success as the former Giant did in New York.

The 28-year-old will probably land a one or two-year deal at a very affordable price, and the Giants still have a sliver of cap room to work with in order to bring him aboard.

I'm actually surprised no reports have officially connected New York to Mooney, because the fit makes too much sense. He's fast, he's explosive and he has enough of a track record where you know he can be incredibly productive.

I don't like the idea of Darius Slayton playing a major role in 2026. Not after the year he just had. The Giants should seek to avoid that, which is why Mooney should absolutely on their radar. More than that, Big Blue should be heavily pursuing him.

Sign Mooney, draft Tate and call it a day as far as the wide receiver room is concerned.
