The New York Giants should absolutely be considering selecting this big-bodied wide receiver in the NFL Draft.

The New York Giants still have a need at wide receiver even after signing Calvin Austin III and Darnell Mooney in free agency.

Remember: the Giants also lost Wan'Dale Robinson, and Malik Nabers is recovering from a torn ACL. Plus, both Austin and Mooney are under six feet tall.

New York really needs a big receiver to complement Nabers (assuming he returns healthy), which is why Ohio State's Carnell Tate should still be a viable option with the No. 5 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

But if the Giants decide to go in a different direction with their top draft choice (and it's looking more and more like they're going to), they would then have to circle back around and nab a wide out later.

I've already mentioned guys like Ted Hurst, Jeff Caldwell and Bryce Lance as receivers I would love for New York to consider a bit later on, but there is another player that should absolutely be catching Big Blue's attention: Texas Tech standout Caleb Douglas.

Immediately, you'll notice that Douglas' size is impressive. He stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 206 pounds, and while it wouldn't hurt for him to add some weight to his frame, I could absolutely see him being an X-receiver on the NFL level.

Douglas began his collegiate career at Florida and spent two unproductive seasons with the Gators before transferring to Texas Tech.

The Houston native instantly broke out upon joining the Red Raiders, hauling in 60 receptions for 877 yards and six touchdowns in 2024. He then caught 54 passes for 846 yards and seven scores this past season.

Overall, Douglas averaged a robust 15.1 yards per grab during his tenure at Texas Tech, displaying his big-play ability.

Thanks to his 79-inch wingspan, Douglas has a tremendous catch radius, and he also ran a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine. Clearly, his physical attributes are compelling, and it's not like he's all potential and no production, either.

Douglas is expected to be a Day 3 pick next week, with most pegging him as a fifth or sixth-round selection. As a late-round dart throw, Douglas would represent a phenomenal choice for a Giants squad that could really use a tall, big-bodied red-zone weapon for Jaxson Dart.

Yes, New York signed tight end Isaiah Likely to play that role, but having another large target in goal-line situations would be huge for Dart.

The Giants should unquestionably focus on selecting a bigger wide receiver at some point in this draft, and Douglas should absolutely be on their radar.
