John Harbaugh has given a major update on injured wide reciever Malik Nabers heading into the Giants' Week 1 matchup.

The New York Giants are getting ready to open the John Harbaugh era with a bang, going up against the rival Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.

The two teams will be playing on Sunday Night Football, putting each side into the national spotlight right away. But New York isn't shying away from the challenge of this game, believing that they have what it takes to win.

With Harbaugh in the mix now, the Giants instantly have more credibility across the NFL landscape. But it will be up to the players on the field to take care of business, starting with this contest against Dallas.

As the team gets ready for the game, the Giants could be getting a massive piece to their offense back. Star wide receiver Malik Nabers has been out since early last season when he tore his ACL, meniscus, and partially tore his labrum.

There was a possibility that Nabers could miss part of the 2026 season, but the wideout has worked hard on his recovery. Now, there seems to be a good chance of Nabers suiting up for the Giants in Week 1 against the Cowboys.

Nabers participated fully in practice for the Giants on Wednesday, while also taking contacy with pads. This could give him the green light to play against Dallas, with Harbaugh dropping the latest update.

"I think he's ready to go, man," Harbaugh said. "We'll see though. I mean, it's still four days, five days, four days until we play. So, if he's ready to go and he feels like he's ready to go, then he'll play. If he's not and he's not ready, then he won't play. That's how it works."

It remains to be seen if Nabers will indeed take the field on Sunday night, but this is a step in the right direction for the star wide receiver. Nabers will likely try to play, seeing how he feels during warm-ups.

But if he is able to play, it could change everything for the Giants' 2026 season. Nabers had emerged as one of the best wide receivers in football before his injury last year.

In his rookie season, Nabers caught 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. Nabers only played in four games a year ago, putting up 18 catches for 271 yards and two touchdowns.

Getting Nabers back could help quarterback Jaxson Dart, who is expected to take a leap thus season. Overall, this is an excellent update from Harbaugh, giving the Giants some hope for Nabers this year.
