The New York Giants made a bunch of signings over the first couple of days of free agency, bolstering their roster on both sides of the ball.
Are more moves coming?
The Giants just restructured Brian Burns' contract, clearing over $15 million in cap space. Naturally, New York fans are hoping that a larger move is on the way.
However, ESPN's Jordan Raanan has thrown a wet blanket on those aspirations.
"The Giants created $15.1 million in salary cap space by converting $22.75 million of Brian Burns' base salary into a signing bonus, per source. Don't expect any big signing as a result. This simply creates operating funds," Raanan posted on X.
New York now has a tick over $28 million in cap space following the move, but it's important to remember that the Giants need to save some of that money for draft picks, and it's also important to keep some cash available for in-season moves.
So, more than likely, Big Blue will not be spending the money it just opened by restructuring Burns.

Now, Giants fans will turn their attention to the No. 5 overall pick, where there is a variety of options on the table for the club.
New York can go the easy route and simply select Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate with its top draft choice, which would give the Giants a potentially lethal receiver duo of Tate and Malik Nabers.
There have also been reports that the G-Men are genuinely interested in Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, which is certainly strange given the fact that they already have Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy in the backfield, and it's typically not wise to select a halfback with a top-five pick.
Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles and safety Caleb Downs have also been pitched as potential selections for New York at No. 5, although with the Giants signing Tremaine Edmunds as well as retaining Micah McFadden, Styles may be off the board.
Of course, Harbaugh and Co. could also decide to trade down and collect more draft capital, which is actually probably the most ideal scenario for Big Blue.
