The New York Giants have yet another injury concern that could undermine everything.

The New York Giants have already lost two of their most important players for the year, as quarterback Jaxson Dart and edge rusher Brian Burns both succumbed to season-ending knee injuries in Weeks 2 and 3, respectively.

And now, the Giants have yet another injury concern which could be the straw that broke the camel's back for the 2-1 squad.

Star left tackle Andrew Thomas did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday due to a groin issue that initially occurred during the second half of New York's Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Thomas played against the Tennessee Titans last Sunday, but it seems pretty clear that the former Second-Team All-Pro is not 100 percent.

Perhaps sitting Thomas out of practice is just the Giants' way of managing the injury. Thomas could very well be a full go against the Arizona Cardinals this weekend.

The scary thing, however, is what happens if Thomas makes the injury worse?

When healthy, Thomas has long been one of the best offensive tackles in football. The problem is that he has rarely remained without injury.

Between 2023 and 2025, the former first-round pick played in a grand total of 29 games due to a variety of ailments. He was great when he was available, but the lack of durability is very problematic.

Remember: during the early stages of the offseason, Thomas was dealing with a nagging shoulder injury, and his foot was bothering him, as well. Considering he underwent Lisfranc surgery in 2024, the latter was particularly concerning.

The 27-year-old seemed to be perfectly fine in training camp, which was a relief. But when it comes to Thomas, you are always holding your breath waiting for another injury.

Currently, the groin issue does not appear to be a huge deal. He wouldn't have played last week if it were that severe. But the fact that he is missing practices is alarming.

New York absolutely, positively cannot afford to lose Thomas. He is the anchor of the offensive line, and he is actually the team's best offensive player.

The Giants have a very easy upcoming schedule, with matchups against the Cardinals, Washington Commanders and New Orleans Saints. They will then take on the winless Houston Texans in Week 7, although you kind of get the feeling the Texans are better than their record indicates.

Regardless, New York has an opportunity to do some damage in the coming weeks, and it is playing in what is clearly a very weak NFC East division.

But if Thomas is forced to miss any time, it could completely undermine the Giants' of achieving anything of significance.
