The New York Giants could be gearing up for a big move at the NFL trade deadline.
The New York Giants are suddenly one of the more intriguing teams in football, and things could be about to get even more interesting.
The Giants are in dire need of wide receiver help, and they are apparently calling around the league trying to find an answer before the trade deadline. And in preparation to make a big move, New York has made a couple of key contract decisions, converting the parts of the salaries of both cornerback Paulson Adebo and safety Jevon Holland into signing bonus.
The two moves freed up $4.8 million in cap space for the Giants, who could potentially swing a trade for someone like Chris Olave or Calvin Ridley between now and Nov. 4.
Of course, the added cap room does not necessarily mean New York is guaranteed to make a move, but with trade rumors swirling, it has certainly stoked the flames.

That left New York with Wan'Dale Robinson and not much else against the Philadelphia Eagles last Thursday. The Giants still came away with a 34-17 win, but there is no way Big Blue can move forward with its current receiving corps.
That's especially considering that the Giants are trying to develop rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who has gone 2-1 since taking over as New York's starter.
While Nabers won't return until 2026, it's important for the Giants to provide Dart with as many weapons as possible, and if they are able to acquire Olave, New York would suddenly boast one of the league's best receiving duos heading into next season.
It should be noted that the Giants traded their 2026 third-round pick in the deal that landed Dart last April, so the G-Men are a bit short on draft capital when it comes to completing potential trades. That being said, New York should still be able to find a deal with the assets it currently has at its disposal. It doesn't have to be Olave, either. There should be cheaper options available, although Olave would be the best option for the long haul.
The Giants are 2-4 on the season and will aim to keep rolling when they take on the Denver Broncos this Sunday.
