New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers just dropped a major hint for Week 1.

One of the biggest questions facing the New York Giants this summer has been the status of wide receiver Malik Nabers, who is recovering from a torn ACL and has not seen meaningful action since originally suffering the injury last September.

Nabers has been making steady progress in training camp, and the fact that he was not sent to the PUP list was obviously a great sign for his potential Week 1 availability.

And in practice on Monday, Nabers revealed an incredibly encouraging sign: he was able to ditch the red non-contact jersey.

While this doesn't necessarily mean that the former first-round pick is a lock to play in the Giants' season opener against the Dallas Cowboys, it is obviously a major step and is a clear indication that he is making significant headway.

Nabers means everything to New York's offense. When healthy, he is one of the best receivers in football, and with the Giants having a sophomore quarterback in Jaxson Dart, his presence on the gridiron becomes even more paramount.

It's important to remember that Dart only played three quarters with Nabers last season before the LSU product went down with his devastating knee injury, so we have yet to truly see Dart with his top weapon in tow.

Nabers hauled in 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns during his rookie campaign, earning himself a Pro Bowl appearance.

The 23-year-old flashed incredible ability in college and has game-changing potential for a Big Blue squad that is hoping to ascend into playoff contender status this season.

Of course, whether or not Nabers will actually get back to 100 percent at any point this fall remains to be seen. Not only did he have the initial surgery to repair the torn ACL, but he also underwent another procedure to remove some scar tissue from the affected area.

It should also be noted that head coach John Harbaugh insinuated that Nabers had more damage in his knee than what was initially reported.

The Giants went just 4-13 last season, but they were competitive in the bulk of their losses, and against strong competition, to boot.

Expecting New York to make the playoffs in Harbaugh's first year is probably a bit ambitious, but the G-Men should be better in 2026. And if Nabers is anything close to his 2024 form, the Giants could be in terrific shape.
