The New York Giants will have one of the top picks in the NFL Draft.
If the season were to end today, the New York Giants would hold the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. The Tennessee Titans and New Orleans Saints came away with wins on Sunday, which moved the Giants up.
Having the top pick in the draft would open up a ton of opportunities for New York. The Giants have started to build their young core, as they selected pass rusher Abdul Carter with the third overall pick in 2025 and traded back up in the first round to take quarterback Jaxson Dart with the 25th overall pick.
With an elite defensive line and their franchise quarterback in place, New York could trade down to a team that wants to take a quarterback or pass rusher.
This would allow the Giants to add additional draft capital to build a well-rounded roster. In the first round, New York could target a weapon like wide receiver Carnell Tate or Jordyn Tyson to pair opposite Malik Nabers.
Tate is having a great season at Ohio State, as he's hauled in 48 receptions for 838 yards and nine touchdowns across 10 games. Tyson has also been impressive, catching 61 passes for 711 yards and eight touchdowns across nine games. He also has a rushing touchdown.
While Tyson may be considered the more talented player, he has an extensive injury history that may drop him down the board.
Adding a weapon would help Dart develop and set up a quality offense for New York long-term. They would have their quarterback and receiver duo in place, as well as a solid young running back in Cameron Skattebo.
If the Giants don't decide to go with a weapon, they could add to their offensive line or a defensive player.
New York will have plenty to sort out this offseason, including hiring a head coach after firing Brian Daboll this season.
There is a lot of football left to be played, but if the season ended today, the Giants would be in a great spot to add additional draft assets by trading back or taking who they believe is the best player in the class.
