The New York Giants could look to make a trade to bolster the offense.
The New York Giants enter into Week 6 of the NFL season with a record of 3-1-1, with the team looking to keep up the strong start.
Losing starting quarterback Jaxson Dart to a season-ending injury was a brutal way to start the year, but New York has been able to withstand it so far. Backup Jameis Winston has played well, giving this team a spark on offense.
But this team could use another weapon on offense, giving Winston more to work with this season. And with the NFL trade deadline approaching, the Giants may start looking around the league for options.
NFL analyst Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report linked the Giants to veteran wide receiver Jerry Jeudy in a recent article. New York was named the best landing spot for the Cleveland Browns wideout amid all the trade rumors around him.
Jeudy has been in the news a lot lately, with all sorts of rumors going around him. The veteran wide receiver has fallen out of the Browns' offensive system this year, with Cleveland looking more toward the younger guys on the roster.
This could see the Browns look to move Jeudy, and the Giants could be a solid landing spot for his services. Not only could Jeudy improve the depth of this team, but he has already built chemistry with Winston.
Both players worked together with the Browns in 2024, which was Jeudy's best season with Cleveland. Winston and Jeudy developed nice chemistry, and they could bring this over to New York.
While Jeudy's 2026 season has gotten off to a slow start, he isn't that far removed form his 1,000-yard season with the Browns. In 2024, Jeudy put up 90 catches for 1,229 yards and four touchdowns with Cleveland, showing what he can do out on the field.
Pairing Jeudy with Malik Nabers and others in the Giants system could give this team another boost offensively. New York should be trying to add another wideout to the mix, and Jeudy could be one of the better names available this season.
His salary for the 2027 season isn't guaranteed, so the Giants wouldn't be taking on any long-term money unless they decided to do so. New York could make the move to have Jeudy help the rest of this season, only to walk away from him at the end of the year.
Overall, this could be a low-risk move that offers high-reward opportunities for the Giants for the rest of the season. New York wants to get into the playoffs this season, and adding the former Pro Bowl wideout could be one way to help with that goal.
