New York Giants edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux is an obvious trade candidate heading into the offseason, and everyone knows it.
Yes, his recent exchange with Giants legend Carl Banks indicated that Thibodeaux may be planning on remaining in New York through next season, but that doesn't necessarily mean the former first-round pick will stick around.
The Giants selected Abdul Carter with the third overall selection of the NFL Draft last April, and they already handed Brian Burns a massive long-term deal. Chances are, they aren't paying three edge rushers big money for the long haul, so with Thibodeaux entering the final year of his contract, a trade makes sense.
But would it actually be feasible in terms of value for Big Blue?
Lucas Hutcherson of SNY does expect New York to move Thibodeaux in the coming months, noting how crowded the Giants' edge rusher rotation has become.
However, he isn't so sure the G-Men will reap a harvest in return for Thibodeaux due to the $14.8 million he is guaranteed to make in 2026.

"However, there was reportedly interest at the deadline, so look for the Giants to at least try to shop him."
There was speculation that New York could have dealt Thibodeaux for a Day 2 pick back in November, so it seems hard to imagine that his value has plummeted that much in a span of two-and-a-half months.
That being said, Thibodeaux logged just 2.5 sacks in 10 games this past season and missed the last seven games of 2025 with a shoulder injury, marking the second straight campaign he has been sidelined for an extended period of time.
Of course, the 25-year-old has displayed tremendous potential in the past, such as back in 2023 when he racked up 50 tackles and 11.5 sacks.
Thibodeaux was a top-five pick back in 2022 for a reason, and teams in need of another pass rusher might be willing to bank on that potential.
The Giants should probably still be able to nab a third-round pick in return for Thibodeaux, which would be very convenient considering Big Blue does not currently own a third-round selection this year.
We'll see if new head coach John Harbaugh decides to shop Thibodeaux.
