The New York Giants definitely need to add some weapons for Jaxson Dart this offseason. We all know this. Giants fans are also mostly aware that the team does not have a ton of cap room, so splurging in free agency really isn't much of an option.
Plus, Wan'Dale Robinson is slated to be a free agent himself, which further complicates things for New York when it comes to spending money.
Ergo, the Giants will have to largely rely on the NFL Draft to bolster their roster, and the good news is that this upcoming draft class is flush with talent at the wide receiver position.
Unfortunately, Jeremiah Smith isn't eligible to declare this year, but there is another Ohio State receiver who will be available that could represent a game-changer for New York: Carnell Tate.
Dane Brugler of The Athletic recently posted a 2026 mock draft, and he has the Giants trading down from No. 2 to No. 4 (via the Las Vegas Raiders), where they would then select Tate.

"Tate would complement Malik Nabers really well and reflect the Giants’ desire to surround their young quarterback, Jaxson Dart, with more help."
I am on the record saying that I want New York to go defense with its top draft pick, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to the idea of nabbing Tate.
The 6-foot-3 receiver would comprise a terrific partner for Nabers, who is more on the smaller side. Tate just completed a regular season in which he caught 44 passes for 793 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 18 yards per catch. The explosiveness is there even if he doesn't have genuinely elite speed.
That's okay, though, because Nabers himself is a burner, and the Giants could actually use a big-bodied possession receiver like Tate to complement him.
What New York decides to do with Robinson in free agency will likely dictate how it approaches the NFL Draft. If the Giants let Robinson walk, it increases the chances of them selecting a wide out with their top pick.
That being said, I would still prefer New York to rectify its bottom-dwelling defense first, especially considering there will be plenty of receivers the Giants can select later on in the draft.
