The New York Giants have received a significant update on a Pro Bowl trade target.

The New York Giants have certainly improved their roster in free agency, filling numerous needs with some pretty prominent players.

However, the Giants still have a glaring hole at one position in particular: wide receiver.

New York let Wan'Dale Robinson walk to the Tennessee Titans, which creates a pretty big problem for the Giants' wide receiver room. There is Malik Nabers (who is recovering from a torn ACL), Darius Slayton (who was awful in 2025) and basically nothing else.

The Giants own the No. 5 overall pick in the NFL Draft and could absolutely take Ohio State star Carnell Tate at that spot, but it would also strongly behoove them to add an established receiver to their depth chart.

Well, New York might be willing to swing big in that department, as Jacksonville Jaguars star Brian Thomas Jr. has been floated as a potential trade target for Big Blue.

There have been conflicting reports regarding Thomas' availability.

SNY's Connor Hughes reported earlier in the week that the Jaguars are willing to move Thomas in the right deal, but ESPN's Adam Schefter shot it down, saying that Jacksonville will not be trading Thomas under any circumstances.

However, Hughes is now doubling down on his original report, telling 106.7 The Fan that the Jaguars are absolutely open to shipping the Pro Bowler out of town.

"If someone makes them a compelling offer, they're going to move him," Hughes said. "From everything that I have heard from multiple sources ... is that Brian Thomas is available for the right price."

Hughes added that a Thomas trade isn't "imminent" but that it would not surprise him if the LSU product were moved before the draft.

The Giants were one of the teams who checked in on Thomas back at the November deadline, so it makes sense that they might make a push for the 23-year-old this offseason, especially after Robinson's departure.

Thomas — who was a college teammate of Nabers — hauled in 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns during his rookie campaign in 2024, earning himself a Pro Bowl appearance. His numbers plummeted in 2025, as he caught 48 passes for 707 yards and a couple of scores.

Evidently, the former first-round pick does not see eye to eye with Liam Coen, who took over as Jaguars coach last season.

Thomas is under team control for the next three years, so it would surely take a substantial package for New York to pry him away from Jacksonville, but it's definitely something to monitor moving forward.
