This update on free agent wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson is certainly something New York Giants fans need to hear.

The New York Giants are in dire need of receiving help heading into the offseason, especially with Malik Nabers' health in question and Wan'Dale Robinson hitting free agency.

But in terms of the latter, the Giants may end up receiving some positive news.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan has provided an update on the Robinson front, noting that he is expects the breakout wide receiver to return to New York in 2026.

"Robinson had a great contract year, leading all wide receivers out of the slot with 622 yards and 292 yards after the catch. It will all undoubtedly earn Robinson a significant payday," Raanan wrote. "A return seems likely considering he has always been a favorite of GM Joe Schoen and the Giants need to add playmakers, not let the ones they drafted and developed walk."

Robinson hauled in 92 receptions for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns this past year, representing, by far, the best season of his career.

The 24-year-old was originally selected by New York in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft and has been a pretty consistent producer for Big Blue, but 2025 was absolutely his breakthrough campaign.

The problem is that Robinson is expected to land north of $15 million in average annual value on the open market, with Spotrac projecting the University of Kentucky product to bag a four-year, $70.6 million contract. That's good for $17.6 million per year.

Considering the Giants currently have just $6.9 million in cap space, Robinson's expected demands could complicate things.

New York also has needs at defensive tackle, offensive line and cornerback, and in terms of the latter, Cor'Dale Flott is also slated to hit open market. Surely, the Giants would like to retain him, but that might prove financially impossible — or at least unlikely — if they re-sign Robinson.

Nabers' health will obviously play a big role here. The star pass-catcher tore his ACL back in Week 4 and was still on crutches toward the end of the season, which has some believing he will miss the start of 2026.

If there is any doubt about Nabers' availability for next fall, New York may have no choice but to keep Robinson, even if the G-Men plan on selecting a wide receiver with the No. 5 overall pick of the NFL Draft.
