The New York Giants upset the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.

Not only did the New York Giants upset the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 to kick off the John Harbaugh era, but they also rose in Bleacher Report's Week 2 NFL power rankings.

The Giants went from No. 24 to No. 21 after beating the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

"It's still too early to say the Giants are good—the Dallas defense has been awful dating back to 2025. But they were in Week 1, and we'll find out soon enough how sustainable the improvement is," BR wrote.

The Giants haven't made the playoffs since the 2022 season. That was the first year of the Brian Daboll era.

It would certainly be quite the story if New York made the playoffs in Year 1 of the Harbaugh era.

"This was really special because these guys, these players, these guys who have believed from the beginning, they don't bat an eye," Harbaugh said. "They just try to do the right thing every single day. They try to be on point. And even when they're not on point, they're going to bounce back and make it right. Maybe there is a mistake. Maybe there is a false start. They find a way to make a play and erase the mistake and make it right and make it better.

"Buying into that kind of mindset, just when you see it in practice and see it happen in a game, that is what as a coach you feel so good about."

Giants owner John Mara gave Harbaugh the game ball in the postgame locker room.

The Giants started the season with a win for just the second time in 10 years.

"It was huge," Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart said. "I just think that we have so much respect for Coach [Harbaugh], and this team will do whatever he says because we have all the faith that he's going to put us in the best situation. The identity of a team starts at the top. It starts with how he's conducted himself, with how he's created a tough team.

"We want to take that on our shoulders, and we bought in to what his plan is week in and week out. We're definitely happy to get it for him. We're just really happy we did it, not only for the players but for the organization."

We watched the New York Knicks win the NBA championship this year. Anything is possible in sports, so let's see if the Giants can shock the world this season and make the NFL playoffs.

Next up for New York is the Los Angeles Rams, who will be without superstar Myles Garrett.

It's also unknown if Aaron Donald will play.
