Matthew Schmidt and Dylan Feltovich of New York Giants Roundtable break down the Giants' potential NFL Draft free fall in the newest edition of the Giants Roundtable Podcast.

Well, the New York Giants defeated the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, likely destroying their chances of securing the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

The problem is that they could slip even further if they beat the Dallas Cowboys in Week 18.

Matthew Schmidt and Dylan Feltovich discussed the Giants' frightening draft scenario and a whole lot more in the newest episode of the Giants Roundtable podcast.

The topics are as follows:

  • The Giants likely lost the No. 1 overall pick on Sunday. What does this mean for New York? How will it affect the team's NFL Draft strategy? Are the Giants basically doomed, or is there any sort of silver lining here?
  • Just about everyone was sold on Jaxson Dart earlier in the season. Now, for some reason, many are doubting whether or not he is New York's quarterback of the future, and a report even surfaced before Week 17 that the Giants would consider drafting Fernando Mendoza. Is that legitimate? Or is it just posturing on New York's part to gain some leverage in potential trade talks in the draft? Is there reason to question whether or not Dart is Big Blue's long-term answer at quarterback?
  • The Giants are just a week away from heading into the offseason, which begs the question: what are New York's biggest needs this offseason, and how should the Giants go about fixing them? What positions should the G-Men address in free agency as opposed to the draft?
  • Miami Hurricanes defensive lineman Rueben Bain Jr. was recently floated as a potential NFL Draft target for New York, but does Bain actually make sense for the Giants? He is more of a pass rusher than anything else, and he doesn't even really have a distinctive position just yet. This would seem like more of a BPA pick for New York, which doesn't seem advisable.
  • The Giants will face the Cowboys in their season finale this week. If they end up beating Dallas, they will finish 4-13 and could ultimately fall all the way down to No. 7 in the NFL Draft order. That would be absolutely catastrophic for New York. Schmidt and Feltovich break down just how terrible a Week 18 win would be.

All that and more in the newest episode of the Giants Roundtable podcast.
