Matthew Schmidt and Dylan Feltovich of New York Giants Roundtable discuss whether or not the Giants are actually heading in the right direction during the most recent episode of the Giants Roundtable Podcast.

The New York Giants have now lost five games in a row to fall to 2-9 on the season, but given the fact that they could potentially land the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, it's not the worst thing in the world.

Jaxson Dart missed Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers will in concussion protocol, and of course, the Giants were also without Cam Skattebo and Malik Nabers. New York rolled with Jameis Winston under center and actually nearly pulled off a win.

While it doesn't seem like there is much to talk about concerning Big Blue at the moment, there is actually quite a bit to discuss.

Matthew Schmidt and Dylan Feltovich of Giants Roundtable dove into on the fifth episode of the Giants Roundtable podcast this week.

    The topics are as follows:

    • Yes, the Giants blew another fourth-quarter lead against the Packers, marking their fourth blown fourth-quarter edge of the season. But is the fact that New York even keeps taking leads late in the game actually a positive sign? Do the Giants' close losses to good teams indicate that they are actually headed in the right direction and only need a few more pieces?
    • Abdul Carter went another game without a sack on Sunday, meaning he still has just a half of a sack on the season. That came back in Week 1. Giants legend Tiki Barber took a little jab at Carter after the Packers game, calling him a "one-trick pony." Does Barber have a point about Carter? Is there reason to be concerned about the rookie? Or does Carter still need more time?
    • Who are some potential head-coaching candidates for New York now that Brian Daboll is gone? Should the Giants go with an offensive-minded coach to develop Dart? Or should they go with a defensive guy and potentially keep Mike Kafka as offensive coordinator so Dart does not have to change systems in his sophomore year?
    • The Giants have a great shot of landing a top-five pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Should they trade down to acquire more draft capital? And what should they target in the draft? Should they focus on offensive pieces like wide receiver and tackle early on? Or should they address a defense that ranks toward the bottom of the league?
    • New York will face the Detroit Lions on the road in Week 12, and we don't know for sure if Dart will be back on the field. With the Lions having just lost to the Philadelphia Eagles to fall to 6-4 and out of the NFC playoff picture, they will be desperate in this one. Do the Giants even stand a chance? Or is this blowout city?

All that and more in the newest episode of the Giants Roundtable podcast.
