Penn State’s quarterback, Drew Allar is among on of the top prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft, and it’s likely that that’s why most of the NFL is going to be there.
However, for the New York Giants, general manager Joe Schoen is going to be there not just for work, but for family reasons as well.
His son, Carson, is a quarterback who won't plan on enrolling until 2028, announced that he'll be in town for a visit to Penn State – and what better game to be in town for than the white out?
Being on the clock 24/7 is a lifestyle for an NFL executive, so Schoen would probably be remiss if he didn’t at least see what was out there ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.
But since the GIants seem locked in on this past first round pick Jaxson Dart, it would be a total shock if Schoen was scouting Allar as well – especially since there was a big fuss about him now starting, leading up to Week 4.
Luckily, there are more than enough NFL prospects in tonight’s game.
Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq is one of the higher end non-quarterbacks in this class. A tight end who doesn’t get looked towards often, but when he does, he makes the most of his opportunities.
According to Dane Brugler of The Athletic, out of the nine catches he’s hauled in, five of them have resulted in first downs, and three of them in touchdowns.
Even though the Giants have a promising tight end prospect in Theo Johnson, a little competition never hurt anyone and Sadiq is a promising tight end who also excels in a blocker which separates him from the pack.
Given that the Giants seem to be pretty set on running backs with Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy, it seems unlikely that Schoen would be looking to target running backs like Nick Singleton or KayTron Allen from Penn State.
Another fascinating wrinkle in this game is Oregon linebacker Bryce Boettcher.
Boettcher was actually drafted by the Houston Astros of MLB and intends to make the jump to the majors.
But Boettcher has such a fascinating story, who walked on to Oregon’s team and quickly rose in the ranks of the program’s linebacker room – similar to Carson Schwesinger who was just drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Tonight’s game may boost his draft stock and make his professional decision that much more difficult.
