The New York Giants need to fix this position.
The New York Giants had all sorts of issues last year, but John Harbaugh has done a fine job of plugging some of those holes in free agency.
Plus, with the Giants being a young and upcoming team, improvement is expected across the board in 2026.
Well, almost.
One area in which New York still has severe issues is at the cornerback position, and if the Giants aren't careful, it could completely derail their chances of making a playoff push next fall.
New York signed Greg Newsome II in free agency, but it also lost Cor'Dale Flott, so Harbaugh and Co. actually probably downgraded there.
The Giants are hoping for a better year out of Paulson Adebo next season after a rough debut, but Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon is not so sure New York will get it.
In a piece where Gagnon listed each NFL team's most overpaid player, Adebo and his three-year, $54 million contract was the choice for Big Blue.

"But he struggled to stay on the field and was often exposed in coverage in his first year with the G-Men. His $24.2 million 2026 cap hit ranks fourth in the league among players at his position."
Adebo played in 12 games last season, finishing with 73 tackles, an interception and eight passes defended. He managed a 57.9 coverage grade at Pro Football Focus, which ranked 77th among 114 qualifying cornerbacks.
That's simply not going to cut it. Especially not for a No. 1 corner.
The 26-year-old was actually a very solid player during his four-year run with the New Orleans Saints, which was why the Giants gave him that deal in free agency last March to begin with. In fact, the move was generally viewed favorably at the time.
But Adebo proved to be a massive disappointment in Year 1, and now, New York will have to try and find another answer in the NFL Draft next month.
Perhaps Adebo will rebound and enjoy a much more fruitful 2026 campaign, but the Giants still need to pick up another piece. That's why trading down and potentially nabbing LSU star Mansoor Delane might be the best path for New York.
