The New York Giants have already received some frightening news heading into NFL free agency.

The New York Giants will probably land more talent in the NFL Draft than they will in free agency this offseason due to their financial situation, but they still have some of their own key free agents they need to worry about re-signing.

Wan'Dale Robinson, Cor'Dale Flott and Jermaine Eluemunor are all headed for the open market, and with the Giants not having a ton of cap room, the chances of them retaining all three players seem very remote.

Robinson will likely be the most expensive of the bunch, but Flott and Eluemunor should be end up getting palatable deals.

However, Flott just made a move that should scare New York.

Dan Duggan of The Athletic has reported that Flott has signed with Athletes First, a powerhouse agency that could very well set him up with a lucrative pay day next month.

Spotrac is currently projecting Flott to land a four-year, $38 million contract, which is about $9.5 million annually. But Flott's agency switch could result in the 24-year-old landing a much more significant deal.

Losing Flott would be tough for a Giants team that has a rough secondary as it is. Paulson Adebo was a major disappointment in 2025, and Deonte Banks might as well be considered a bust at this point.

Flott, on the other hand, had a solid year, registering 38 tackles, an interception and 11 passes defended in 14 games. He also managed a very respectable 68.1 coverage grade at Pro Football Focus.

No one is going to confuse Flott for Champ Bailey, but there is no question that he is a decent cornerback who has been a steady hand for New York ever since it selected him in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Giants could also select a cornerback in the draft this April, but the ideal scenario would be to re-sign Flott and pick up another corner to add some depth.

You have to figure that Adebo will have a better season in 2026, so if Big Blue can retain Flott and draft a cornerback, it will actually be fairly set at the position.

The problem is that there will surely be plenty of teams courting Flott, and many of those teams may have more financial flexibility than the Giants, who currently have just $6.9 million in cap space.
