The New York Giants have been connected to a dynamic replacement for wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson in NFL free agency.

The New York Giants may be losing Wan'Dale Robinson to free agency next week, as the breakout wide receiver is expected to land a hefty contract.

Robinson is expendable, so that's okay. But the Giants will need to find a replacement.

On that note, The Bergen Record floated an interesting potential option for New York: former Atlanta Falcons receiver Darnell Mooney.

The Falcons revealed their plan to release Mooney this week, and while he isn't a star by any stretch, he should have a decent market this offseason.

The 28-year-old logged 32 catches for 443 yards and a touchdown in 2025, but he is two seasons removed from hauling in 64 receptions for 992 yards and five scores.

Keep in mind that Atlanta had a very shaky quarterback situation this past season, which absolutely affected Mooney's production.

But the former fifth-round pick has demonstrated that he is a dangerous vertical threat numerous times throughout his career, like back in 2021 when he caught 81 passes for 1,055 yards and four touchdowns with the Chicago Bears.

Mooney has blazing speed and could slide right into Robinson's slot role, and the Giants could then draft a wide receiver to play opposite Malik Nabers on the outside.

The best part is that Spotrac is projecting Mooney to land a two-year, $15.1 million deal, which is definitely palatable for New York. It's certainly way more affordable than the contract Robinson is expected to receive.

There is no question the Giants will need to find a replacement for Robinson if he departs. Yes, they can absolutely pluck a receiver in the draft, but they will also have to find someone to occupy that slot role.

I've already mentioned Jalen Nailor as a perfect fit for New York, but Mooney would be a solid pickup, as well.

The Tulane product owns a very respectable career average of 13 yards per catch, and he has averaged well over 13 yards per grab each of the last three seasons.

Mooney could end up being one of the bigger steals of this offseason, so Big Blue should be ready to pounce now that he is available.
