The New York Giants were certainly busy on the opening day of NFL free agency, adding tight end Isaiah Likely and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds while also retaining offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor.
But while the Giants have made some good moves already, they still have some pretty glaring needs up and down the roster, and one of them is at wide receiver.
Not only did New York lose Wan'Dale Robinson to the Tennessee Titans, but some of the Giants' potential top targets to replace him — such as Jalen Nailor — have already come off the board.
So, what does that mean for the G-Men? Are they taking a wide receiver with the fifth overall pick of the NFL Draft? Or do they have something else up their sleeve?
Connor Hughes of SNY thinks it could be the latter, naming New York as a potential trade destination for Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr.
"Brian Thomas of the Jaguars is available," Hughes said on WFAN. "He is someone that the Jaguars are entertaining offers to, and depending on who you talk to around the league, believe that he is going to get moved."
Hughes added that the Giants called on Thomas at the trade deadline this past season and that Jacksonville appears to be more open to moving the former first-round pick now than it was then.

"If they're (the Jaguars) are trading him, that tells me something is going on behind the scenes that they just didn't let out," Hughes said.
Apparently, Thomas does not see eye-to-eye with Jaguars coach Liam Coen, as evidenced by the fact that his usage fell off a cliff during Coen's debut campaign in Jacksonville this past season.
Thomas hauled in 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns during his rookie season in 2024, making the Pro Bowl. This past year, however, he managed just 48 catches for 707 yards and a couple of scores.
So is Thomas the problem? Or does he just need a change of scenery?
The Giants would surely have to surrender rather significant draft capital in exchange for the LSU product considering that he still has three years of team control left on his contract.
Thomas is a former college teammate of Malik Nabers and is still just 23 years old, so he would certainly be an intriguing fit in the Big Apple.
