New York Giants Linked to Towering Weapon for Jaxson Dart cover image

The New York Giants have been connected to a massive weapon to help quarterback Jaxson Dart.

The New York Giants need to find another wide receiver one way or another this offseason, and their best chance of landing one may be via the NFL Draft.

Fortunately, this is a very deep class at the wide receiver position, so the Giants don't even necessarily have to take a receiver in the first round.

In fact, Ed Valentine of Big Blue View has them waiting all the way until Round 4, where he has tabbed USC Trojans star Ja'Kobi Lane as a fit for Jaxson Dart and Co.

"In what is said to be a deep wide receiver class, there were still several options on the board here," Valentine wrote. "I have to acknowledge that I have a preference toward bigger receivers who can be useful in red zone and contested catch situations."

Lane stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 200 pounds, so he definitely fits the bill here.

The Mesa, Az. native hauled in 49 receptions for 745 yards and four touchdowns in 2025, averaging 15.2 yards per catch.

Lane arrived at USC in 2023 but did not begin receiving considerable playing time until his second season, when he caught 43 passes for 525 yards and 12 scores.

Clearly, Lane knows how to find the end zone, so he would definitely comprise a terrific partner alongside of Nabers, who is not quite as big as six feet tall.

Of course, Wan'Dale Robinson is slated to hit free agency, but even if New York re-signs Robinson, it should not stop the team from selecting Lane, who could provide the Giants with the X receiver that they need while Robinson plays in the slot.

While Lane does not have elite speed, he possesses tremendous ball skills, which, coupled with his size, makes him a serious downfield threat.

His route tree is not incredibly developed, which is certainly a bit of a concern after what New York just dealt with regarding Jalin Hyatt, but Lane does seem like a more polished all-around receiver blessed with a more unique skill set.

It might seem a bit dangerous for Big Blue to wait until Day 3 to select a wide receiver, but given the amount of talent slated to be available this spring, it might actually be pretty feasible.
