The New York Giants have made a decision regarding the future of general manager Joe Schoen.
The New York Giants are signing general manager Joe Schoen to a multi-year extension. This comes after the Giants hired John Harbaugh as their head coach earlier in the offseason.
New York had a very successful draft, adding edge rusher Arvell Reese with the fifth overall pick and offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa with the 10th overall pick. The Giants also took cornerback Colton Hood in the second round and wide receiver Malachi Fields in the third round.
With a well-rounded draft that addresses some of their top needs, New York felt Schoen was worthy of an extension to work alongside Harbaugh as they usher in a new era.
The Giants have a plethora of young talent with quarterback Jaxson Dart and running back Cam Skattebo entering their second seasons in the league.
Dart showed promise in his rookie campaign, completing 63.7 percent of his passes for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He added 487 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.
Skattebo was also productive prior to his injury, as he rushed for 410 yards and five touchdowns along with 24 receptions for 207 yards and two touchdowns in eight games.
The other key piece on offense is wide receiver Malik Nabers, who will be returning from a torn ACL and torn meniscus at some point in 2026.
Ed Mulholland-Imagn ImagesSchoen and the Giants were also aggressive in free agency, inking tight end Isaiah Likely to a three-year deal, wide receiver Darnell Mooney to a one-year deal, and fullback Patrick Ricard to a two-year deal.
They also have a ton of talent on defense, particularly on the defensive line with Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, Kayvon Thibodeaux off the edge, DJ Reader at defensive tackle, and Reese as a potential hybrid linebacker and edge rusher.
New York also invested at the inside linebacker position in free agency by signing Tremaine Edmunds to a three-year contract.
It's clear that the Giants have faith in the Harbaugh-Schoen era as they continue to add to the young core and will look to shock the NFL this season as a dark horse to win the NFC East title.
