The New York Giants may already have their next 1,000-yard weapon on their roster.
The New York Giants still need to add another wide receiver for Jaxson Dart, as the Giants need a true No. 2 alongside of Malik Nabers.
But is it possible that New York already has another 1,000-yard weapon in the fold?
The Giants signed tight end Isaiah Likely in free agency, and while he isn't a wide out, he is certainly capable of posting big numbers.
Head coach John Harbaugh is very familiar with Likely from their Baltimore Ravens days, and Harbaugh has already let everyone know that Likely will surely be putting up better stats with Big Blue.
“I’m certain he’s going to be able to put up the numbers, the stats,” Harbaugh said. “That wasn’t the thing in Baltimore because of the supporting cast.”
It's true. Likely was the No. 2 tight end behind Mark Andrews during his time with the Ravens, so he never got the chance to register huge numbers.
Likely's best season in Baltimore came in 2024, when he hauled in 42 receptions for 477 yards and six touchdowns. That came on 58 targets, a number that is sure to see a big uptick in New York.

I think Jaxson’s going to really like him running the routes and being in his line of vision. He’s got a big catch radius. He can he can make plays, after he makes the catch he can get up field. He can make people miss. He can run people over."
Likely has always been a terrific athlete with incredible potential, which is why some Andrews was even floated as a potential trade candidate the last couple of years.
But now, Likely is in a new location, and while Dart did develop a strong rapport with fellow tight end Theo Johnson in 2025, Likely will certainly take over as the No. 1 guy on the depth chart and could be in for a monster season.
It's not out of the realm of possibility that the 26-year-old could record a 1,000-yard campaign — or at least close to it — during his debut season with the Giants in 2026.
That's especially if New York doesn't add a wide receiver in the NFL Draft, although I do think the G-Men will pick up a receiver at some point, whether that's taking Carnell Tate at No. 5 or circling back around to nab one a bit later.
The Likely addition was a great one for the Giants, and it should make life considerably easier for Dart as he enters his second season.
