The most underpaid player on the New York Giants has been named.
The New York Giants went just 4-13 last season. They finished with the worst record in the NFC East, but rookie QB Jaxson Dart played pretty well.
And according to NFL analyst Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report, Dart is the Giants' most underpaid player heading into next season since he will be one of the most underpaid QBs in 2026.
"Another sophomore first-rounder who didn't disappoint as a rookie, Dart just may be the Giants' next franchise quarterback. Yet he won't be one of 42 signal-callers counting at least $4 million against the salary cap in 2026."
Dart finished his rookie season with 2,272 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, five interceptions, 487 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. He appears to have a bright future with John Harbaugh in his corner now.
Harbaugh is considered one of the best coaches in NFL history. He went 180-113 in the regular season and 13-11 in the playoffs with the Baltimore Ravens.
Baltimore, led by Joe Flacco and Ray Lewis, won Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco 49ers, 34-31.
How excited is Dart to play for Harbaugh? He took time out of a family vacation to talk about the massive hire with ESPN's Jordan Raanan in January.
"When Coach Harbaugh's name came up, that was the one that we were all really, really excited about and wanted to have," Dart said during an interview with ESPN while on a family vacation. "So I think from just our standpoint, the guys just can't wait to play for him and have the chance to get coached by him."
The Giants haven't made the playoffs since the 2022 season. That was the first year of the Brian Daboll era. Daboll was fired during the middle of last season, and while Dart was close with Daboll, he believes Harbaugh will turn the New York franchise around.
"He was just a coach who I feel like I just bought into the things that he was saying immediately, and just the way that he carries himself and can conduct himself in front of a room and his track record is incredible," Dart said. "So immediately the winning culture, the intensity, and then just the enthusiasm and love about football, that's what he carries and brings to the team. So, just can't wait to get started and get rolling with him."
