The New York Giants will surely make a significant move at wide receiver one way or another this offseason, whether that's landing an established veteran or using an early draft choice on one.
But could the Giants actually swing a major deal on the trade market to land a big-time answer for Jaxson Dart?
Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon feels it's a possibility, tabbing New York as a potential trade destination for Pittsburgh Steelers star D.K. Metcalf.
The Steelers just acquired Metcalf in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks last spring and proceeded to hand him a four-year, $132 million extension, so the idea of Pittsburgh actually moving him seems ludicrous.
But Gagnon specifically mentioned Metcalf as a "surprising" trade candidate in the event that the Steelers weren't too happy with his rather disappointing production during his debut campaign in Steel City.
Metcalf caught 59 passes for 850 yards and six touchdowns in 2025, with his yardage total representing the lowest mark of his NFL career.

The Giants definitely need an X-receiver to play opposite Malik Nabers, so a Metcalf type of talent would be tremendous for them.
The main sticking point, however, is Metcalf's contract.
The Ole Miss product carries a $31 million cap hit next season, and that number increases to $32.5 million in 2027. By the time Metcalf reaches the end of his deal in 2029, the cap hit surges to $41.5 million.
There is an out in Metcalf's deal at the end of 2026, but it would result in an $18 million dead cap charge.
New York seems more likely to simply draft a receiver than surrender any assets for Metcalf, who will probably be too pricey for Big Blue.
And to be perfectly honest, I don't see any reason why the Steelers would trade Metcalf anyway given the fact that they have no other reliable receivers on their roster.
The Giants absolutely need to address their receiving corps in the coming weeks, but Metcalf is not the answer.
