Do you agree with this take on New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart?
New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart was labeled as a "functional performer" by the Bleacher Report NFL scouting department.
Dart comes in at No. 26. He's one spot ahead of Cam Ward of the Tennessee Titans and one spot behind Bryce Young of the Carolina Panthers.
"Waiting a few games behind an established veteran quarterback served Jaxson Dart well during his rookie season," Bleacher Report wrote. "The former first-round pick started 12 games and showcased his prowess as a quick-game passer combined with his plus-level athleticism. Dart established himself as a running/scrambling threat last season. His pocket mobility and backfield creativity help him evade the defensive pass rush for second-reaction throws. As a passer, his game is to quickly read the action and make the right decision from the pocket. He is a vertical climber in the pocket but will drift backwards to buy time for routes to develop, facing heavy defensive pressure. Dart must protect himself more when running the football. He was evaluated for a head injury multiple times last season. He missed two games for an official concussion, diagnosed after facing the Chicago Bears."
Dart finished his rookie season with 2,272 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, five interceptions, 487 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. He appears to have a bright future with Matt Nagy and John Harbaugh in his corner now.
"One of the many great things about Jaxson Dart is he does so many things so well," Harbaugh said about Dart. "There is a lot of different elements that Jaxson can play in. I'm not sure what he really can't do."
"I was able to watch a decent amount of Jaxson last year, when I was in Kansas City," Nagy said about Dart. "We tried to take as little time as possible watching the quarterback position, but every year I will watch just to see the top guys that are there, and I remember coming away impressed with Jaxson and his accuracy."
In Year 1 of the Harbaugh era, the Giants play the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Rams, Titans, Arizona Cardinals, Washington Commanders, New Orleans Saints, Houston Texans, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions.
If Dart can lead the Giants to the playoffs next season, he could be in MVP talks.
The Giants haven't made the playoffs since the 2022 season. That was the first year of the Brian Daboll era.
