This New York Giants trade rumor has returned.
The New York Giants certainly have not been quiet this offseason, as they have made a flurry of moves in free agency to bolster their roster on both sides of the ball.
However, all things have been quiet on the trade front for the Giants thus far, which is peculiar given that so many were expecting Kayvon Thibodeaux to be dealt.
Thibodeaux is entering the final year of his contract and is now the third edge rusher in a rotation that is headlined by Brian Burns and Abdul Carter.
Yes, the former first-round pick racked up 50 tackles and 11.5 sacks back in 2023, but he has played in just 22 games the last two seasons, totaling eight sacks.
The chances of New York re-signing him seem slim to none. It makes perfect sense to trade him ... so why have things been so silent?
Well, Bleacher Report's Moe Moton has dug up the rumor and is putting it back at the forefront, naming the Green Bay Packers as a potential landing spot for Thibodeaux.

"It's a risky move given the four-year pro's inconsistent production, but he could benefit from lining up across an elite pass-rusher. Also, new Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon can maximize Thibodeaux's strengths in a mixed front."
Parsons tore his ACL midway through last season and is expected to be sidelined for the early stages of 2026. Plus, the Packers traded away Rashan Gary and lost Kingsley Enagbare to free agency, so they could afford to add another pass rusher.
But with Green Bay having already traded a pair of first-round selections for Parsons last year, will the Packers be willing to part with yet more draft capital for Thibodeaux?
The Giants seem to have placed a hefty price upon Thibodeaux, and it doesn't seem like they will settle for anything less than a Day 2 pick.
Green Bay has other holes to address, so it will surely want to be careful in potentially parting with a high draft choice, especially for a player like Thibodeaux who has missed extensive time due to injuries the last couple of seasons.
If New York can extract a third-round pick out of the Packers (or any team) in exchange for the University of Oregon product, it should waste no time in pulling the trigger, particularly considering that Big Blue does not own a third-rounder of its own heading into next month's NFL Draft.
