This NFL trade idea reunites John Harbaugh with Marlon Humphrey.
A blockbuster NFL trade idea sending Marlon Humphrey from the Baltimore Ravens to the New York Giants has been created.
Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports proposed the following trade idea between the Ravens and Giants:
Giants get: Marlon Humphrey
Ravens get: 2026 fourth-round pick (105th), 2027 conditional seventh-round pick
New Giants head coach John Harbaugh coached Humphrey on the Ravens, so this trade makes sense for New York.
"The thinnest position on the Giants’ roster might be corner, where veteran Paulson Adebo has battled injuries the past two seasons, Deonte Banks has been a bust, and they’re counting a lot on the flier they took on Greg Newsome," Vacchiano wrote. "Humphrey, a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, will be 30 and carries a $15.25 million salary, so he might not cost more than a Day 3 pick. The Ravens will be OK in the secondary without him. And they could make this a win-win trade if they can entice Baltimore with edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux in a blockbuster deal, too."
Humphrey is one of the best players in the NFL at his position. For the Ravens last season, the four-time Pro Bowler had four interceptions, 13 passes defended, one sack, 53 solo tackles, three tackles for loss and three QB hits in 15 games.
A two-time All-Pro, Humphrey would make the Giants' secondary tougher to go against. With Humphrey locking down the back end, it would allow Brian Burns to rack up sack after sack.
It's unknown if Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence will be on the Giants next season. Lawrence has requested a trade and Thibodeaux is being shopped.
Humphrey has spent his entire career with the Ravens. He has 23 career interceptions and 17 forced fumbles. The Giants need a lockdown corner, and since Harbaugh is so familiar with Humphrey, New York should heavily pursue a trade for the Alabama product this offseason.
The Giants haven't made the playoffs since the 2022 season. That was the first year of the Brian Daboll era.
