The New York Giants could still make a move for this star defensive player.
The New York Giants have already made a bunch of moves in free agency, and with just $3 million in cap room, it's looking like the Giants are done.
New York actually needs to free up some cap space in order to have money to sign its draft picks and to have some savings in case of injuries or for midseason moves, so the chances of the Giants actually making another impactful move seem slim.
However, Dan Duggan of The Athletic has reported that a significant addition may still be on the table for Big Blue, and he cited one player in particular: six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Calais Campbell.
"Other options include Calais Campbell, who spent three seasons with [John] Harbaugh in Baltimore and continues to play at a high level as he approaches 40," Duggan wrote. "Campbell played on a one-year, $5.5 million contract in Arizona last offseason, so his asking price should be reasonable."
Campbell played in all 17 games for the Cardinals in 2025, registering 43 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 16 quarterback hits while also posting a very respectable 72.2 overall grade at Pro Football Focus.

New York has a very clear need at defensive tackle alongside of Dexter Lawrence. The Giants had one of the worst run defenses in football last year, and while they signed linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, it would be nice to add an interior defender, as well.
Of course, Harbaugh and general manager Joe Schoen could always look to address the issue in the NFL Draft, which features a rather deep class of defensive tackles next month. But with New York owning just two picks over the first two days of the draft, finding one may be difficult.
Campbell would certainly represent a terrific pickup for the Giants. Not only does he remain a good player, but he is very familiar with Harbaugh from his Ravens days, as Duggan noted.
However, you just get the feeling that Campbell — who is likely a future Hall-of-Famer — will probably end up being a bit too expensive for the G-Men.
