The New York Giants have to fire Brian Daboll following their Week 3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

It's time. The New York Giants need to fire head coach Brian Daboll in a decision that should have happened eight months ago.

The Giants had every opportunity in the world to upset the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. Instead, they failed at every turn. Well, outside of some exciting plays from rookie running back Cam Skattebo.

Somehow, some way, Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson combined for three catch, with all of them coming in the fourth quarter. New York committed seven costly penalties. It went 1-for-10 on third downs. Offensively, it looked absolutely lifeless. This even though Daboll is supposed to be an offensive guru.

Remember back in 2022, when Daboll led the Giants to a shocking playoff appearance and an even more stunning playoff win? That feels like eons ago. It's hard to believe it even happened, because since then, New York has looked more hapless than ever. The Ray Handley days weren't even close to this bad.

We can blame Russell Wilson as much as we want, but to be perfectly honest, it's probably a good thing that Jaxson Dart wasn't subjected to this. Now, the Giants can simply cut bait with Daboll to make things a bit less difficult for Dart when he does ultimately take over as the starting quarterback, which could be any day now.

The funny thing about this Giants squad is that they were completely in two of their first three games. They should have beaten the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2 if not for a ridiculous decision by defensive coordinator Shane Bowen to play prevent defense. I won't go as far to say that they should have beaten the Chiefs, but the game was to be had. Kansas City played terribly.

It's just a culture that has been forged in New York over the last decade-plus. A culture where the team finds new ways to lose every week, and Daboll has entirely fed into it. It's becoming increasingly obvious that he has lost the locker room, and that doesn't exactly translate into on-field success. You tend not to get fortuitous bounces under those circumstances.

Daboll has completely lost the plot. It's clear he no longer has any pull on this team. It's almost as if he is checked out without even realizing it.

The Giants need to fire him now before he potentially damages Dart. That's the most important thing here. Because if that happens, it will set the franchise back another few years, and at this point, it's becoming an eternal loop in the Big Apple.
