With the 2025 NFL regular season officially in the books for the New York Giants, the front office will now shift its focus towards the upcoming offseason.
Outside of finding a new head coach, the top priority for the organization will be the 2026 NFL Draft, as general manager Joe Schoen must come out of the draft with a new crop of young players for next season.
Here is the first 2026 NFL Mock Draft for the Giants following the conclusion of the regular season.
The Giants managed to land the fifth pick in the upcoming draft, which puts Schoen in a tough spot. While it would be ideal for the team to trade down and accumulate more draft capital, moving down will be challenging due to the projected top two picks, quarterbacks Fernando Mendoza and Dante Moore.
If the struggling franchise is unable to find a trade partner, Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate is the next best option for the Giants. The talented playmaker has been overshadowed by the likes of Marvin Harrison Jr., Emeka Egbuka, and Jeremiah Smith throughout his college career, but he was able to establish himself in 2025.
Tate finished his final season with 51 catches for 875 yards and nine touchdowns. His ability to win at all three levels of the field with physicality is reminiscent of NFL star wideout DeAndre Hopkins, which would make him a perfect complementary piece to Malik Nabers once he returns from his injury.
One of the most important needs for New York this offseason is the cornerback position, as Cordell Flott is set to become a free agent.
Luckily for Schoen, this year’s cornerback class is deep, with multiple players projected to be selected on day two. This is perfect for the Giants and puts them in the range to select Arizona State cornerback Keith Abney II in round two.
The junior defender is coming off an incredible season with the Sun Devils, racking up 44 tackles and two interceptions while also maintaining a 44.4 percent completion percentage when targeted in 2025. Abney is a perfect fit for a defense that favors zone coverage, but could develop into an all-around threat at the next level.
Depending on how Schoen handles Kayvon Thibodeaux this offseason, the Giants will not have a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
With just one pick on day two, the front office needs to find value on day three, and Duke offensive tackle Brian Parker II could be an intriguing fit for the Giants. Parker was one of the best offensive tackles in college over the past two seasons, allowing a total of three sacks on 1,098 pass blocking snaps.
New York’s offensive line needs additional help after the unit suffered multiple injuries throughout the course of the regular season. Adding Parker to the mix will be a massive depth piece for the franchise, pairing him with former 2025 fifth-round pick Marcus Mbow for next season.
Round Five, Pick No. 143: David Oke (IDL, Arkansas)
Round Six, Pick No. 185: Domani Jackson (CB, Alabama)
Round Six, Pick No. 191: Aidan Fisher (LB, Indiana)
Round Six, Pick No. 192: Parker Brailsford (C, Alabama)
