The New York Giants are now in full-blown crisis mode.

Two weeks ago, the New York Giants were on their way to landing the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. The possibilities were endless. It was looking like the Giants were finally moving in the right direction.

But then, in true Giants fashion, New York won its last two games of the season, and in blowout fashion, I might add.

Big Blue ended its 2025 campaign with a 34-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys, meaning that they can't even land a top-two pick in the draft. That could mean they have almost no chance of trading down.

The Las Vegas Raiders and Tennessee Titans are now 1 and 2 in the draft order. The Raiders need a quarterback. They'll probably be taking Fernando Mendoza. The Titans already have Cam Ward, which means there is a great chance they will move down to collect more draft capital.

Then, whoever moves up to No. 2 will probably nab Dante Moore.

The Giants? They'll probably just have to make their pick, wherever it is. At the time of this writing, New York is fifth in the draft order. The Giants could finish as high as third or as low as seventh, which would be nothing short of an unmitigated nightmare.

While the G-Men finally seem to have landed their franchise quarterback in Jaxson Dart (can we stop the nonsensical trade talk already?), nothing else has gone right for this organization for the last decade-plus.

It's starting to look like the Giants are cursed, or at least snake bitten.

Maybe playing in the same stadium as the Jets for all of these years has finally rubbed off on the historic franchise. I don't know what it is. But the Giants just can't seem to get out of their own way.

Am I saying New York's players should have actively threw this game against the Cowboys? Of course not. But the fact that the Giants couldn't buy a win all season and then managed to scrap together back-to-back wins to close out the campaign and sabotage their draft position is just classic Giants and may have set this franchise back another few years.

Spare me the "culture" arguments. Beating the Raiders and Cowboys to conclude the season and finishing 4-13 instead of 2-15 dose nothing for the culture. Getting good players, though, that helps.

And now, Big Blue has less of a chance of doing that now that their draft position has been torpedoed.
