Chalk up another massive win for the Green Bay Packers here at the beginning of the 2025 NFL season. Just days after handily beating the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field for the season opener, the Packers welcomed in the Washington Commanders and cruised to another easy win.
The final score was, 27-18, but it wasn't even really that close.
The Packers have now established themselves as one of the scariest teams in the NFC, and they feel they can do some special things after beating the back-to-back winners of the NFC North in the Lions, and now a team that made the NFC Championship game last season in the Commanders.
The Packers look confident. They look like they know they can be very good, and they've got the talent to back that up.
There's still a long ways to go in this 2025 season, but this Thursday Night Football win over the Commanders was both impressive and important for the Pack.
These four players were the stars of the game.
Micah Parsons can impact a game in so many ways. If he's not getting sacks, he's getting pressures. If he's not getting pressures, he's drawing holding penalties. If he's not drawing holding penalties, he's getting into a quarterback's head and forcing their internal clock to speed up.
Parsons did all of that and more against the Commanders. He finished with three quarterback hits, two tackles, half a sack and numerous pressures.
Not only that, but Commanders' star quarterback Jayden Daniels was held to just 24-of-42 passing for only 200 yards (two touchdowns).
Green Bay's secondary was all over the likes of Deebo Samuel and Terry McLaurin, but it was Parsons making it easy for defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley to simply rush four that made it easy for the secondary.
Josh Jacobs has now notched a touchdown in 11 straight games after getting another against the Commanders.
That's a franchise record, and Jacobs is proving to be worth every bit of the big contract that Green Bay gave him before the 2024 season as a free agent.
The Packers can be extremely explosive on offense, but it's the steady rushing presence of Jacobs that really opens up the passing game.
He finished the game against the Commanders with 23 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Now through two games, Jordan Love is looking like a Top Five NFL quarterback. He was excellent against the Lions in Week 1 and he followed that up on TNF with a performance that saw him complete 19-of-31 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns.
He's started the season without throwing an interception, and he's also been in clear control of head coach Matt LaFleur's offense.
If the offensive line keeps giving him time to throw, he's going to keep carving defenses up.
Tucker Kraft came into this 2025 season already on the breakout path after a 2024 season that saw him catch 50 passes for 707 yards and seven touchdowns.
Kraft was everywhere on TNF and the Commanders had no answers for his abilities to be a big-time pass-catcher down the field.
He finished the game with seven catches for 124 yards and a touchdown, averaging 20.7 yards per catch.
That's elite tight end play from a player who is quickly becoming one of the best tight ends in the NFL.
