Jordan Love and Dontayvion Wicks ignited the offense while Micah Parsons dominated defensively. Discover the four standout performers from the Green Bay Packers' Thanksgiving Day win over the Detroit Lions.

The Green Bay Packers have pulled off the biggest win of their 2025 season, and it was a statement win over the Detroit Lions on the road at Ford Field.

The Packers have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, because they're now 8-3-1, 2-0 against the Lions, who had won the NFC North two seasons in a row. They're also now 3-0 against divisional opponents.

We've seen a Packers team that has looked Super Bowl-worthy at times this season. We've also seen a team that has lost to teams that it should have easily beaten.

In Detroit on Thanksgiving, we saw a team that can make a claim to be one of the best in the NFC.

Jordan Love and the offense went off for 31 points, and the defense played well against what can be a very explosive Detroit offense.

Green Bay's offense put up 359 total yards. The Packers' defense held superstar running back Jahmyr Gibbs to just 68 yards on 20 carries. Yes, Jameson Williams went off, but let's give credit to Detroit. They're a good team.

The Packers are just the better team this season.

Here are the four players of the game from Green Bay's win over Detroit on Thanksgiving.

Star #4: Christian Watson was the deep threat the Packers needed

The Packers needed to give Josh Jacobs some room up front to run, and they also needed to take advantage of an aggressive Detroit defense that likes to get after the quarterback and play man coverage on the outsides.

This was the perfect game for a big, tall and fast wide receiver to shine, and the Packers got just that from Christian Watson.

Watson has become Green Bay's clear No. 1 receiver since coming back from injury, and Jordan Love clearly has developed deep-ball chemistry with him.

He caught four catches for 80 yards and a touchdown, averaging 20 yards per catch.

Star #3: Micah Parsons is incredible

Green Bay's defense had some issues with the Lions' offensive attack, but that was to be expected. They've got a potent offense, even with Amon-Ra St. Brown going out with an injury.

Still, the Packers did just enough to make Jared Goff uncomfortable for a majority of the game, and in big moments, Micah Parsons proved why he was worth the trade package sent away for him as well as the massive contract the Packers gave him.

Parsons finished with eight tackles, 2.5 sacks, 3 tackles for loss and four quarterback hits. Truly incredible.

Star #2: Dontayvion Wicks had the best game of his career with the Packers

The Green Bay Packers needed somebody not named Watson to step up as a receiver. Tucker Kraft is gone until next season and Matthew Golden has been injured.

Dontayvion Wicks and his potential have seemingly always been talked about, but he's not even come close to scratching the surface of his potential this season.

    Until Thanksgiving, that is.

Wicks led the team with six catches for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Both touchdown catches were massive, but his game-sealing catch on 4th-and-3 with 1:55 to go was just as big.

If this is the Wicks the Packers can get for the rest of this season, this offense could really start rounding into Super Bowl-contending form.

Star #1: Jordan Love looked like an MVP quarterback for the Packers

The Green Bay Packers have yet another star quarterback on their hands. We've had those thoughts about Love, but this win over Detroit was a showcase game for him.

He finished the game having completed 18-of-30 passes for 324 yards and four touchdowns. His wideouts once again struggled with drops, so there's absolutely no reason to believe that his completion percentage should have been greater than 60%.

Still, every time the Packers needed a big play or a big throw, Love was there to make it.

He's matured over these past two weeks of play, and he's been impeccable when it comes to taking care of the football. Including the game against the Lions, he hasn't thrown an interception in four games, and he's thrown only one in the last seven.

He's now thrown for 2,794 yards and 19 touchdowns this season compared to just three interceptions.
