If you're a Green Bay Packers fan, Sunday, Feb. 8, could be really tough. The Packers aren't going to be playing in Super Bowl LX.
Breaking news, right?
It's breaking news, as in it's heartbreaking. It feels like just yesterday, but it's now been 15 years since the Packers last won the Super Bowl. That was Super Bowl XLV, where Aaron Rodgers and the Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 31-25.
If you're feeling nostalgic and/or masochistic, let's take a trip down memory lane:
That was the last time the Pack were in the Super Bowl. Before that, it was a run of two straight in 1996 and 1997.
Brett Favre, Reggie White and the Packers beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI. A year later, they lost to John Elway and the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXXII.
Again, let's go down memory lane:
Now, let's get into this game, here in 2026, a bit.
What: Super Bowl LX
Where: Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, California
When: 5:30 PM Lambeau Time
TV: NBC or Peacock
Matchup: Seattle Seahawks vs. New England Patriots
Betting Odds: Seahawks -4.5, O/U 45.5, per DraftKings.
Who should Packers fans root for?
The short answer is no one. If there were a way for both teams to lose, that would be ideal.
The Seahawks and Packers have a ton of history. Some of it has gone the Pack's way. Just ask Matt Hasselbeck:
A lot of it has gone against the Pack. There was, of course, the "fail mary", but nothing was worse than the 2014 NFC Championship game. Brandon Bostic's name is akin to Lord Voldemort's:
You could, of course, choose to root for the Patriots. As already mentioned, the Pack did beat them in Super Bowl XXXI and there's not a ton of overlap here since they're in the AFC.
With that said, Green Bay is known as title town, but it's the Patriots who have now been to 12 Super Bowls since 2000.
If they win this one, it will be their seventh Super Bowl win. That thought certainly doesn't feel good, considering the damn trophy is named after legendary Packers coach Vince Lombardi.
Unfortunately, somebody is going to have to win this game. They don't do ties in the Super Bowl. If they did, though, you can bet that would be what most Packers fans would be rooting for.
