Did Jordan Love Play Well in Packers' Win vs Vikings? cover image

The Green Bay Packers won despite getting zero touchdowns from Jordan Love.

The Green Bay Packers improved to 7-3-1 on the season after beating the Minnesota Vikings at home on Sunday by a final score of 23-6.

The Packers scored two touchdowns, both coming on the ground from Emanuel Wilson.

Jordan Love finished the game 14-21 for 139 yards. He wasn't great or bad, which is why NFL analyst Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report gave him the following grade for his performance: C.

"Jordan Love wasn't slinging the ball everywhere against the Vikings," Sobleski wrote. "He didn't need to do so. The Green Bay Packers used the tried-and-true method of running the ball, even without Josh Jacobs in the lineup due to injury, and playing good defense to garner a decisive victory.

"Emanuel Wilson carried the ball 28 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns. With this approach, all a team asks of its quarterback is to not make mistakes. Love didn't. He did enough to keep his team on track and let everyone else go to work."

On the season, Love has 2,560 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns and three interceptions. The 27-year-old is completing 67.7% of his passes.

Love hasn't thrown a touchdown pass in three games this season. The Packers are 13th in the NFL in points per game and 14th in passing yards.

The Packers' defense has been great this season. They are fifth in the NFL in points per game and were dominant against the Vikings, who had only 145 total yards.

"It was amazing," Love said about his defense. "It was a big-time job by everybody on the defense."

Against better teams, Love will have to get the passing game going for the Packers to win. For now, though, Green Bay will enjoy the win against Minnesota and then prepare for a huge game next week against the Detroit Lions.

The Packers are in second place in the NFC North, while the Lions are in third place.

"Obviously the prep has got to get started today," Love said. "Everybody's trying to get their bodies back, get back healthy as quickly as possible."
