The Green Bay Packers could be in need of a new center as they retool their roster this offseason.
Green Bay started Elgton Jenkins at center for the first 10 weeks of the season before he went down with a season-ending injury. Prior to the injury, Jenkins was struggling in his move from guard to center.
The Packers then started Sean Rhyan at center for the remainder of the season. Rhyan was impactful with run blocking, but was inconsistent in pass protection.
Green Bay could look to add a new center to the roster in free agency. One player who could make a ton of sense is Tyler Biadasz.
The Washington Commanders recently released Biadasz after starting there for the past two seasons.
He was a Pro Bowler during his time with the Dallas Cowboys and could be a solid starter for Green Bay.
Biadasz is a quality veteran and likely won't cost a ton compared to the more premium options like Tyler Linderbaum.
Amber Searls-Imagn ImagesAnother key factor in signing Biadasz is that it won't cost them a compensatory pick. They are likely to receive two high compensatory picks as Malik Willis and Rasheed Walker could leave for new teams on big contracts.
That should be a strong consideration rather than pursuing a high-priced free agent like Linderbaum.
Green Bay could also focus on prioritizing other positions of need, like defensive line and cornerback, in the draft rather than having to draft an immediate starter.
Brian Gutekunst and the Packers front office must get the center position right, as it is pivotal to quarterback Jordan Love's success.
Love had a career year in 2025, completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He has become an elite passer and has a ton of weapons to throw to, like Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, Jayden Reed, Tucker Kraft, and Josh Jacobs out of the backfield.
If the Packers are able to land Biadasz, he would be a quality addition to the offensive line and could be a cheap option while Green Bay looks to win a Super Bowl.
