The Green Bay Packers have some major needs that they can fill in the 2026 NFL Draft, but there are few needs more pressing than at the line of scrimmage.
On the offensive line, former two-time Pro Bowl guard Elgton Jenkins is expected to be a cap casualty, and left tackle Rasheed Walker and center Sean Rhyan are going to be free agents. That's potentially three players gone from a unit that already struggled at times in 2025.
On the defensive line, Micah Parsons is everything the Packers hoped he would be, but he will be coming off a torn ACL. Defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt has All-Pro potential, but he's also coming off a major injury.
Rashan Gary should be cut, though he may stick around on a restructured deal for 2026. He's been a disappointment, though. Speaking of disappointments, there's Lukas Van Ness.
He and Gary represent two former first-round picks who have just not lived up to their potential.
So yes, there are needs for the Packers on both lines of scrimmage, and they are glaring needs.
Undoubtedly, that's why Dalton Wasserman of PFF has the Packers selecting a center in round two, followed by a pass-rusher in round three.
In a new three-round mock, Wasserman has the Packers selecting Kansas State Wildcats center Sam Hecht with pick No. 52.
Hecht checks in at 6-foot-4, 300 pounds and he started 25 games for the Wildcats at center over the past two seasons. He was an All-Big 12 First Teamer and was also in the running for Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year.
PFF gave Hecht an overall grade of 80 in 2025. He didn't notch a single penalty, didn't give up a single sack and allowed just one hit against his quarterback this past season.
Hecht would be one heck of a second-round pickup for the Packers.
In round three, with pick No. 84, Wasserman has the Packers selecting edge-rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton from the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Dennis-Sutton has good size at 6-foot-5, 265 pounds and he's been a big-time player for PSU over the past few seasons.
In 2025, he notched 42 tackles, 8.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and three passes defended. In four seasons in Happy Valley, he totalled 23.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, eight passes defended, and two interceptions.
The Packers already have a former star Nittany Lions on their roster, but the only thing better than one is two.
