The Green Bay Packers improved to 4-1-1 on the season by beating the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7 by a final score of 27-23.
Packers QB Jordan Love went 19/29 for 179 yards and a touchdown, earning him a "B+" grade from NFL analyst Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report.
"While trailing 23-20 with under six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Love orchestrated a 10-play, 48-yard drive for the game-winning touchdown," Sobleski wrote. "Crucially, Love connected with tight end Tucker Kraft twice in key moments. On 3rd-and-7 from Arizona's 45-yard line, Kraft converted with an eight-yard reception.
"Four plays later, Love found Kraft along the sideline for 15 yards during a 4th-and-2 scenario. Green Bay overcame travel issues and an early deficient to emerge with another win."
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur initially wanted to kick the FG to tie the game. However, once he saw that Love wasn't happy with that decision, the HC changed his mind.
"It was one of those deals, no matter what we called, this guy's going to make it work," LaFleur said. "That's what happened."
Love has 1,438 passing yards, 10 passing touchdowns and only two interceptions this season. The 26-year-old is completing 69.3% of his passes for the Packers, who are in first place in the NFC North.
"Tuck did a great job going up and being able to win," Love said about the GW TD pass. "It's just a one-on-one route … and when I got to him, I couldn't tell what angle he would take out of (his break). I just put it out there for him."
Love and the Packers face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8. Everyone knows who the QB for the Steelers is: Aaron Rodgers.
Week 8 is the first time Rodgers will face Green Bay since the future Hall of Famer was traded by the Packers to the New York Jets in 2023.
Love is 22-15-1 since taking over for Rodgers, who is 4-2 with the Steelers.
Love won't admit it because he's a pretty quiet guy, but the QB is going to be motivated to beat the guy who wasn't happy that the Packers drafted him.
