Matt LaFleur sees a Super Bowl-ready quarterback in Jordan Love, believing his potential is limitless and he's still developing into a top-tier NFL leader.
Love is in the air in Green Bay, as there's clearly a lot of love between Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and quarterback Jordan Love.
Earlier this week, while speaking at a charity event, Love relayed that he was ecstatic that LaFleur was given a contract extension by the Packers despite an extremely tough end to the 2025 campaign.
“Being able to keep Matt around is awesome, and I’m very happy about that,” Love said, per Kyle Malzahn of WFRV. “It’s a lot to learn a whole new system and new terminology. As a quarterback, being in the same system, the same terminology, it definitely helps me out.”
Having the same scheme and the same leadership is a massive benefit to Love as a quarterback, but this relationship goes both ways.
Generally, you're only as good as your quarterback is in the NFL, and LaFleur believes the Packers have a Super Bowl-worthy one.
Speaking to NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo on Saturday at the Annual League Meeting in Phoenix, LaFleur revealed that the Packers think Love hasn't even reached his peak as a quarterback yet.
"Many teams in this league are only as good as your guy pulling the trigger, so we feel like we're very fortunate to have one of those guys that I think the sky's the limit for him," LaFleur said.
If Love truly hasn't figured it all out yet, and there's reason to believe he hasn't, that's scary news for the NFL. He's been in the league since 2020, but the 2025 season was just his third as a starting quarterback.

That type of consistency is rare in today's NFL.
It paid off for Love in 2025. He looked like an MVP candidate at times while throwing for 3,381 yards and 23 touchdowns compared to just six interceptions.
Can he take the next step and go from great to elite, though?
LaFleur clearly thinks it's possible, but it's also because Love has grown up in Green Bay not just as a quarterback, but as a person.
"We trust each other quite a bit," LaFleur said. "I would say our relationship's really strong. It's been cool to watch his evolution, not only as a player but as a man. From the time we drafted him to where he is now, and he's about to be a dad here really, really soon in a couple weeks. But he's really developed into a really good leader for us."
