Do you agree with this ranking of the Green Bay Packers' defense?

NFL analyst Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report recently ranked every NFL defense following the 2026 draft.

Davenport ranked the Green Bay Packers 15th in the league.

"The Green Bay Packers made one of the biggest splashes of the 2025 offseason in trading for edge-rusher Micah Parsons," Davenport wrote. "For a time, it appeared that move was paying off big-time, but after 12.5 sacks in 14 games Parsons tore his ACL, and Green Bay's defense wasn't the same without him.

"Parsons' recovery is the biggest question facing Green Bay's defense. The Packers made the playoffs last year, but they ended the regular season on a four-game skid. That isn't the only question, though. After trading Rashan Gary to Dallas, who will step up on the edge opposite Parsons? How will the move from Quay Walker to Zaire Franklin affect the linebackers? How will veteran Benjamin St. Juste and rookie Brandon Cisse fit into the Green Bay secondary?

"The Packers have the personnel on the defensive side of the ball to field a solid unit in 2026. They are going to need to, because the NFC North has the makings of the most tightly packed division in the NFL."

The Packers lost to the Chicago Bears in the 2026 playoffs' wild-card round. Green Bay hasn't won a playoff game since 2023.

Chicago outscored Green Bay 25-6 to win the playoff game. The Packers could have used Parsons, who likely would have made Caleb Williams' life more difficult.

Parsons had a stellar first season with the Packers. He finished with 12.5 sacks, 19 solo tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 27 QB hits in 14 games.

The Packers didn't win a game after Parsons tore his ACL. Parsons may not be ready to begin next season, which is a cause for concern in Green Bay.

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon is the Packers' new defensive coordinator. Gannon built one of the NFL's top defenses during a two-year run with the Philadelphia Eagles.

"We are thrilled to add Jonathan Gannon to our coaching staff. He possesses tremendous experience as an NFL coordinator and head coach," Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said. "I am confident that he will be an outstanding addition to our organization, as well as a strong leader of our defense. We welcome Jonathan, his wife, Gina, and their three children, Rocco, Lola and Angelo, to the Packers and the Green Bay community."

It will be fascinating to see how the Packers' defense performs in 2026. The NFC North has talented QBs: Williams, Jared Goff and Kyler Murray.
