NFL insider Jordan Schultz shared the latest on the Green Bay Packers' plans to extend tight end Tucker Kraft.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz has revealed that the Green Bay Packers hope to get a deal done with tight end Tucker Kraft as he enters the final year of his deal.

The Packers inked defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt to a three-year $57 million extension on Monday, and they hope to retain Kraft next.

Kraft was having a career year in 2025, as he had 32 receptions for 489 yards and six touchdowns across eight games before going down with a torn ACL.

The 25-year-old had established himself as one of the top tight ends in the league prior to his injury. Kraft was also solid in the 2024 season, as he finished with 50 receptions for 707 yards and seven touchdowns.

He is a key piece for the Packers' offense and would be a great fit long-term. Quarterback Jordan Love is coming off a career year, as he completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Green Bay is in the Super Bowl window with Love and Micah Parsons on big contracts.

The passing attack will be pivotal to the Packers' success in the 2026 season. Green Bay moved on from some weapons this offseason as they sent wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles and wide receiver Romeo Doubs signed with the New England Patriots in free agency.

With the moves, it opens up more opportunities for Love to lean on Kraft, Matthew Golden, Christian Watson, and Jayden Reed as his top targets.

Matt LaFleur has proven to be a great offensive play-caller, with talented weapons and an efficient quarterback in Love in place.

While it may be a risk to extend Kraft off the torn ACL, it is hard to find a tight end of his caliber, making him important to lock up long-term as he enters the final year of his rookie contract.
