The wideout suffered a serious injury in Week 2.

The Green Bay Packers beat the Washington Commanders at home to begin Week 2 to improve to 2-0 on the season.

One bad thing, though, happened during the game.

Wideout Jayden Reed suffered a broken right collarbone in the first quarter and will require surgery. He is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Reed has three catches for 45 yards and one touchdown this season.

Packers quarterback Jordan Love is now without Reed and Christian Watson, who is recovering from an ACL tear he suffered in Week 18 of last season.

The 25-year-old Reed is in his third season with the Packers. He has 122 career receptions for 1,695 yards and 15 touchdowns.

"He's going to miss a lot of time," Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said. "We'll see how fast he can recover and heal and certainly I would expect him back at some point this season, but obviously it's a big blow to us. He's a guy who's a catalyst for our offense and our football team, quite frankly, the energy he brings, and he's a dog."

The Packers face the Cleveland Browns in Week 3 on the road. They will be favored to win that game despite being without Reed.

Love is off to a great start in 2025. He has four touchdown passes and zero interceptions. The 26-year-old has thrown for 480 yards while completing 66.0% of his passes.

Love will enter the Browns game with 64 touchdown passes and 8,634 passing yards with the Packers.
