Packers Already Linked to Trade for Intriguing Micah Parsons Replacement cover image

The Green Bay Packer may look to add another pass rusher this offseason.

The Green Bay Packers' season came to a crushing end against the Chicago Bears this past weekend, and now, the Packers will enter a pivotal offseason in which they must navigate a very delicate financial situation.

Green Bay will likely not be signing any big-name players in free agency due to its salary cap constraints, and the chances of them swinging another blockbuster trade seem rather slim.

But that does not mean the Packers won't be active at all.

With Micah Parsons potentially sidelined for a good chunk of next season after tearing his ACL last month, Green Bay may need to consider alternatives at edge rusher.

Rashan Gary has been a massive disappointment and is a potential cut candidate, and Lukas Van Ness is bordering on bust territory, as well.

The Packers could always weigh their options in the NFL Draft, but that becomes tougher without a first-round pick, so Green Bay will likely have to explore the free-agent market or shrewd trades.

On that note, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox has linked the Packers to a compelling trade target: San Francisco 49ers defensive end Keion White.

White split 2025 between the New England Patriots and 49ers, finishing with 18 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Not much production, but he did have a pivotal sack late in San Francisco's Wild Card Round playoff win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Plus, you get the feeling that the 26-year-old has potential that could be unlocked under the right circumstances.

White managed 56 tackles, five sacks and 16 quarterback hits with the Patriots in 2024, so clearly, there is talent there. The former second-round pick also racked up 54 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks during his final season at Georgia Tech in 2022.

Perhaps the biggest draw with White, however, is that he is preparing to enter the final year of his contract and carries a minuscule $1.8 million cap hit for 2026.

If the Packers could land White in exchange for a Day 3 pick, it might be a deal worth making with the club facing so many questions with its pass rush right now.

White only played in 16 percent of the Niners' defensive snaps in nine games with the team this season, so it seem hard to imagine San Francisco asking for too much in a trade.

If Green Bay is going to pursue any possible replacements for Parsons this offseason, White could be one of the most realistic — and intriguing — options available.
