The Green Bay Packers could double down at this position during the NFL Draft.

The Green Bay Packers have some very glaring needs heading into the NFL Draft, which seems odd considering how loaded their roster looked before last season.

However, there was one position that was a problem for the Packers back in September and still remains a prominent issue with the draft less than two weeks away: cornerback.

Right now, Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine are serving as Green Bay's starting corners, and that simply isn't good enough.

The Packers haven't really done anything to address the position in free agency, signing Benjamin St-Juste (who is nothing more than a depth piece) and releasing Nate Hobbs, whom they inked to a four-year contract last March.

Green Bay also does not have a first-round pick this year courtesy of the Micah Parsons trade, so the earliest the Packers will be on the clock is at No. 52.

The good news is that this year's draft class features significant depth at cornerback, and ESPN's Rob Demovsky feels Green Bay might double dip at the position.

"New defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon needs help at several positions, but chief among them is cornerback. And don't be surprised if the Packers pick more than one," Demovsky wrote. "GM Brian Gutekunst has never been afraid to double or even triple up at a position in the same draft. The Packers still like Keisean Nixon, but they need another equally -- if not more -- effective player to pair with him."

For as much as Green Bay may like Nixon, he has been a nickelback for most of his career, so it would surely prefer not to have him as its No. 1 corner.

Nixon registered 72 tackles, a sack and 17 passes defended while posting a 67.8 coverage grade at Pro Football Focus. He was even named a Pro Bowl alternate, although his selection was largely controversial.

There should be plenty of good cornerbacks still available when the Packers prepare to make their first pick of the draft, and with Green Bay owning seven selections overall, it would not be shocking to see Gutekunst nab two of them.

The Packers also have a need at edge rusher, and wide receiver could be on the radar as well following the losses of Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks.

One thing is for sure, though: Green Bay desperately needs another cornerback.
