The Green Bay Packers have made a final decision on their kicker situation.

The Green Bay Packers have released kicker Lucas Havrisik, solidifying Brandon McManus as their starter for the remainder of the season.

Havrisik stepped in when McManus went down with an injury and kicked a franchise-record 61-yard field goal during that stretch.

He made all four of his field goal attempts and hit seven of nine extra point attempts.

The 26-year-old was impressive, but Green Bay has opted to stick with the veteran, McManus, despite his injuries and inconsistency this season.

McManus has hit just 14 of his 20 field goal attempts this season and 18 of his 19 extra point attempts.

The 34-year-old brought stability as the Packers' kicker last season, hitting 20 of his 21 field goal attempts and 30 of his 30 extra point attempts.

Green Bay inked him to a three-year $15.3 million extension this offseason. The Packers are keeping their commitment to McManus despite a tough 2025 season thus far.

Special teams has been a unit that has struggled for Green Bay over the last decade. If they want to make a deep playoff run, they will need the special teams unit to play at a consistent level.

That starts with McManus, as Green Bay can't afford missed field goals and extra points down the stretch.

The Packers control their own destiny down the stretch as they battle with the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions for the NFC North title. Green Bay will face off against Detroit on Thanksgiving, looking to beat them for the second time this season.

The Bears are currently first in the NFC North at 8-3, but have yet to play the Packers this season. If Green Bay is able to win both of those games and defeat the Lions for the second time, it would go a long way in winning the division.

The Packers' defense has played at an elite level this season and has helped them stay afloat despite the offensive inconsistencies and special teams struggles.

However, to win the Super Bowl, Green Bay will need to click on all cylinders. The Packers are fully reliant on McManus, but Havrisik's name remains in the record books for Green Bay in his short stint with the team.
